I have lived at this complex for 16 years. Both Crestmoor and Berkshires. Need I say more??? I have signed the second lease under Berkshires.
Nothing is perfect in this world but this is close to it for apt living.

A lot better than given credit for

Let me begin by saying that all of these negative reviews are unbelievable. I almost feel like they are talking about a different complex. I've lived here for over a year now and can't find any of the issues listed. Ok so a couple of crimes were committed several years ago, welcome to Earth, where crimes happen everywhere. The grounds are well maintained, plenty of parking available at all times, at least for our building, and the office staff has always been helpful. Any time I have a question/concern, I am assisted as soon as I contact them. Our apartment is spacious, 1100 sq ft, completely remodeled with stainless steel appliances, cherry wood cabinets, and very nice fixtures throughout. The pools are well maintained and open at reasonable times. The gym in my building is good enough I cancelled my membership to 24 hour fitness, and we also have pool tables and a racquetball court in our building. The one time we've had to call maintenance, they came the same day, fixed the issue, and we've had no problem since. Rent is completely agreeable, and I have no complaints.

Rip off!!

No control over your utilities. It's a shared expense with the entire building. In the Winter the place is terribly hot. Summer they don't turn on the central air until mid summer, so also crazy hot in the spring. Never comfortable! Can never find parking in the evenings. Also loud and noisy with screaming kids late at night running around and geese near the pods honking early in the mornings. | | Respond to this review » | + View Responses (1) | - TR I can actually say that the A/C was turned on a couple weeks ago, and the first day of summer isn't until June 21st, so you're way off base there. Sharing expenses with the building actually isn't a horrible thing; I find it rather convenient. Everyone uses their fair share of utilities, so splitting it evenly probably saves less in the long run. Our apartment is always comfortable, and I would say you are a pretty light sleeper if the geese wake you up. So far, the only negative about the geese is their poop, and that just requires you step over it. As far as children go, if they are annoying you, you should consider the source: their parents. The complex isn't responsible for children, that is what parents are for. And I personally have yet to see unsupervised children at night. If you are so unhappy with the place, then move out!

Reading all of the reviews for this property is sad. I wonder what is up some peoples butts or what they may be smoking. The grounds are nice the staff is excellent... Ok so some times maintenance is not the quickest, but they get the job done. I really do not get why so many people are angry. I have lived here for a year and have no problems..... Be very careful

Please be very careful when you sign a lease with this outfit.
They are now allocating utility expenses to the apartments, but there doesn't appear to be any set way of allocating these expense. I have been told by management that they take "15-20%" off the top before allocating. Is it 15% or is it 20% or will they decide to drop it to 0 or 10% later after you sign the lease? If it is not exactly stated in the lease, I would recommend that no one sign a lease. Without an exact amount stated in the lease, management will be free to charge you anything they want for utilities. Anyone want to pay an extra $100 a month or $200 a month.
They are also charging a fee for the billing service that will actually send the utility bill. We did not ask for this billing service, why are we being forced to pay an additional fee for it?

As I sit and read the previous reviews of this place, I am shocked!
It sounds to me like the people, or person, that is writing the terrible reviews is unhappy in general and doesn't like change.
Berkshire has owned this property for about a year and I have seen nothing but positives. New paint, inside and out, new ligts in the hallways, new parking lot, the list goes on and on. I wonder why, if you are that unhappy and this place is so horrible, why do you continue to live here? Just to complain? This is only my opinion, agree with it or not.

- We continue to stay here because we are not going to cough up the $2,000 it would take to get out of the lease.
- Sounds like a planted review Our balcony is still unfinished. Not all buildings are treated the same. Some are more equal than others.
The Exercise room in this building is a joke - the equipment is broke. They finally put door knobs on the stairways. Some of the fire exit are locked [for example both swimming pool exits are locked so you can NOT exit from the inside].
We have a three bedroom, but only bedroom has a closet. - Management has an obligation to fix whatever is wrong with your apartment. Should they not fix it hold back your rent. Then you'll have enough money to get the hell out. You should move!
